During Amsterdam Security Convention the EMECA Security Working Group will gather and organize their year meeting at RAI Amsterdam. EMECA is the European Major Exhibition Centres Association AISBL (members are the biggest venues in Europe, a selection: Barcelona, Brussels, Hanover, Paris and Milan). During the EMCEA Security Working Group meeting all heads of security of the largest International exhibition and congress venues gather to discuss safety challenges and solutions.
Convention scenario based programming
Amsterdam Security Convention will present a scenario based program from 31 October – 2 November 2017. During drafting sessions the input for the film scenario scripts is given by security managers, knowledge institutions and government. Security manager Rik Hoogendoorn also shared his experience: ”Our number one goal at RAI Amsterdam is hospitality, security has become a very important part to realize that.”
The 22 EMECA venues organize over 1,800 exhibitions a year with more than 410,000 exhibitors and over 42 million visitors on a gross rented display area of roughly 37 million square meters. According to their own estimates, the exhibiting companies generate a turnover of some 800 billion Euros through exhibitions. In Europe they play an active part in the development of local trade and generate important social-economic effects.
