Amsterdam Security Convention, 31 October – 2 November 2017, is the new knowledge and networking event designed to enable valuable connections between security professionals, it professionals, their board managers, solution providers, public entities and knowledge institutes. Really creating new insights for a secure world requires an open discussion with each other about vulnerabilities and recent security breaches. To make this possible Amsterdam Security Convention offers delegates a new experience; scenario based programming.

Based on actual threats in physical and cyber security several scenarios are presented in a movie and alternated with discussions, keynotes and round table sessions. This way real involvement of all delegates is created while nobody is withheld by company’s confidentiality. To make sure the scenarios match the day-to-day experiences of the participants, the scenarios are developed in close consultation with 55 Partners and stakeholders of Amsterdam Security.

First results
Recently three “drafting sessions” took place, a few of the attending partners; Tyco, Honeywell, Palo Alto Networks, ARAS, TAPA, Vebon, HSD, Police, Ministry of Safety & Justice, RAI Amsterdam, Salto, TU Delft, ASIS, Cisco and Deloitte. Subjects that came up were the new European law in 2018, the latest innovations, the rise of risk managers and end to end security. Also a lot of questions came by. "What is it that keeps a CEO awake at night? What do you want to stand for as an organization? Do we focus too much on the technical aspects of security instead of the organizational ones? And isn’t the biggest security threat the IoT in for example coffee machines, fire alarms and copy machines?"

Open discussion
Based on these drafting sessions three scenarios will be made, giving way to really discuss with each other topics like: what are the most important risks companies are facing today and tomorrow? What opportunities are offered by the recent developments in ‘sensing’ technology? How safe are the current digital infrastructure of organizations and which security solutions are offered by Big Data, IoT, predictive profiling e.g.? The scenarios are explicitly designed to offer recognizable situations for decision makers (management and boardroom level), responsible for physical and cyber security.
